How does this make any sense? First of all who buys a car, registers it and then decides to resell it within weeks?
And then how does this dealership turn around and list it for what seems to be over MSRP (I don't think if you check every option box for a 540 that you can get it to this price) ...for a now used car???

Maybe they charged extra for "breaking the car in?" LOL

They posted the build sheet which shows $82,595 MSRP total with destination charge. They’re offering it for the amazing discounted price of $81,777.

Odd to imagine going to pay list price from a Toyota dealer - wonder if there’s a lack of BMW dealers nearby with inventory? Somehow I suspect it’s not that sophisticated a plan…

Listing details say they are BMW of Columbia (in the capital city for those unfamiliar with SC). Also says mileage is 5, so typical new, off the boat delivery miles. Still strange they list it as used unless the buyer changed their mind after completing the paperwork and title transfer.

I suspect it was inadvertently registered before the buyer actually took delivery and that the buyer changed their mind at the last minute leaving the dealership with a legally "used" car at that point. Why they sold it to a Toyota dealership rather than selling it to another one of their own customers is odd, however.

OK - sounds like that’s where the car really is it’s just being posted by this Toyota center in Atlanta.

Looking at the pictures a little closer, besides the SC dealer plates even the iDrive map shows they are in Columbia and there is a Toyota dealer adjacent to the BMW dealer. Still it’s a bit odd the heading is for an Atlanta Toyota dealer.

I know a situation where this happened. The day I took delivery of my G30, a friend whose son is a pro athlete had bought him a M550i, but decided it wasn’t his style so returned it for a 540i and was delivered same day as mine. The M550i probably had less than 50 miles on it but was “used”.
