My SA told me on Friday that there was a a recall that has caused a stop sale on my car that's due into port in NJ this Friday. He wasn't very clear about what the problem was however though he did indicate that BMW didn't have a remedy for whatever it is yet. I called the genius line this morning and they confirmed this but they didn't have any idea what the issue was either.

So I was wondering if there's some website or other source that can describe whatever the problem is possibly by putting in the VIN number of the car or something like that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you. I tried it and it returned "no open issues found." The mystery continues. One might have hoped the genius line would have been able to shed some light on this but, sadly all they could do was confirm that there was a stop sale and that, as of now, there is no 'fix' for the issue. They had no idea what the issue was.

This site will show if there’s a recall but not a stop sale only. Many iXs recently suffered a stop sale for missing interior trim, but this site revealed nothing since it was not a recall. The open source site, however, often shows “enhancements” that a vehicle needs which are not necessary recalls.

The marine tracking website has it arriving at 3:00 PM tomorrow. It would be very cool to see pictures of it.

No problem at all. I am at work on the Staten Island Ferry so it was absolutely no hassle. Got lucky that the boat was in Staten Island when the Morning Pilot entered the Upper Harbor.
