i5 eDrive40 Efficient/Eco Pro Mode Consumption
I got my i5 eDrive 40 a couple of days ago and something that I am noticing is I am getting much lower efficiency on the eco pro mode. I don't know what might be the reason for this but as attached in the image below, these are 2 identical trips with majority of the ride being on the highway but I am getting much lower efficiency on the eco pro mode compared to the personal mode. Is anyone else getting the same results? Any suggestions might be helpful.

Wind ? Elevation ? Temperature ? Traffic ?

Both of these trips were on the same road with little to no traffic. And this is just an example, I have been getting lower efficiency consistently on the eco pro mode so I was confused. But yeah, I might wait for a couple of weeks to get more data.

The average speed was higher when you were driving in Eco. Also, on the freeway, if you are following behind a truck or SUV, you will get better efficiency.

I’d honestly recommend just accumulating data over time - it’s what I’ve been doing since I got my i5 in late November. 3mi/kWh seems a little low if you were driving efficiently, keeping speeds reasonable.
This review (albeit on the M60) has an excellent real world range tool that really highlights the impact of temperature and speed on range (efficiency) https://www.arenaev.com/bmw_i5_m60_r...-news-2927.php |

Update: Made 1 change while driving in Eco Pro Mode. Whenever the car gave me a down arrow sign on my instrument cluster, I followed that and decelerated a bit to allow more battery regeneration (Screenshot from BMW Guide added below). Got drastically different results and consistently got above 4 miles/kWh. The ride was a bit on the slower side and needs some getting used to but can definitely use this daily if wanting to get higher efficiency.

That’s pretty good Scrapula - given you’re driving an M60 which is less efficient than the eDrive 40.
