Plastic bit in 940 Alloys…?
I can’t remember, or find, the photo I saw the inside of these alloys and it looked like screws were holding these plastic parts on…..(highlighted in red on photo)
Are they removable? Are they there for aero purposes? I wouldn’t mind removing only for aesthetic purposes really… but just wondered if anyone knows……(not got my car yet otherwise I’d look myself! Lol) Thanks in advance. |

They don’t look detachable on mine - to each their own but I think those silver accents are the best part. I’m sure it’s aero given the challenges EV’s have with wheels and efficiency

I suspect they clip on somehow. I bet you could release them from the back if you could reach to the back of the wheel. Just a guess though.

i believe they are secured with a bolt/screw accessible from the back side, if they are similar to the wheel on i4

Thanks for all replies….I was just curious to see if possible to make a more black/darker look, and more visibility to red calipers.

Yes, they can be removed. The only problem might be that after removing them, the small lugs will be visible.
Below is the picture of 939 wheels, they are almost the same as 940 |
