has anyone has this issue got offered a software update few days ago it went through the processes uploaded the files then it was saying the update will install automatically then after two day in that state the car is now telling me there is no update available'm getting this on the app now the update just disappeared like what happened and if I search for update in the car says no update available

They cancelled the upgrade. Probably found a problem with it.

thanks that's what I thought but how could they have cancelled after it uploaded to the car ? I guess I'm gratefully could have bricked my whip

Do these over the air updates happen automatically, or do you have to actually click "yes" or initiate them in some way? I knew a guy who tried a bunch of different electric cars and didn't like that some of the manufacturers "forced" updated down to the car over the air. In other words, he wanted the ability to refuse updates if he wanted to. He actually ended up keeping an ID.4 because at the time he said it was the only one he could find that didn't force the updates. This was years ago and things may have changed now, but what is BMW's stance on this?

You have to initiate it. The system tells you that you have an update. You can then download it and once it's ready it asks you to initiate the update. It can only be done while the car is parked.
