Just got the plates in today for the 540i, and was wondering what license plate frames you guys like. I already have an inclination into what I want to get, but I’m always curious to see what others like.

I have the tow hook mounted front plate so no holes are drilled in the front bumper.

Going to find plain frames and paint them the color of the car.

Simple is best. I am definitely not advertising for any dealership. First mod to the car is to remove the dealership frame.

Habberstadt BMW of Bayshore and Huntington also do not add any tacky dealership stickers to their cars. Be sure to tell your dealer you do not want any of their stickers on your cars!

Agreed 100%. I always ask them to refrain from any dealership badging on my vehicles.

Do you have a picture and a link perhaps? That sounds like a good idea.

In Germany the front license plate is mandatory!

Don't have my car yet but will get the link for the front plate holder for you tomorrow. This tow hook holder does not interfere with the parking sensors but you will need to put the tow hook cover in a safe spot. I will 3d design an easy 3d printable part to put in place of the original cover with access for the front plate mount

Thanks for the link. I won't get my car until late March or early April so I look forward to your review of the item. Particularly that it is sturdy and does not interfere with the sensors.

I will be sure to update you with how well my front plate mount works. Once I have my car I will look into designing a center mount front plate holder that will not need screw holes drilled into the front bumper. Will see about having it mount from underneath the bumper instead and having hidden screws.

I just shove the plate in my front window. In Washington they don’t give you any grief about front mounting a plate.

It really looks fine so would not worry to much about it. Only 2 screws in the bumper also. Not planning on selling the car either so will just get the holes fixed if i do retire where front plates are not required.
