Nema 14-50 plug
Did the i5 come with a Nema 14–50 plug? Mine did not. Just a standard 110 volt plug.

When I built the car on BMWUSA the 14-50 was $0 option and was automatically checked under accessories I believe. The part is about $100, so I'd recommend you ask your dealer to order you one for free. Hopefully the dealer would have several lying around. My guess is the factory missed putting the adaptor in the trunk when the car was sent out of the factory. That is a pain though, I hope you have another quick charging option at home. Have Tesla at home but the connection is different unfortunately. Worst case I’ll go and buy it from the dealer and complain to BMWNA. |

My sales advisor says he is getting it for me. Been almost a week. I ended up buying a Tesla adapter and am using my Tesla charger for now. The charger didn’t come in the fancy bag like the website shows. 😂 |

there may be a shortage. if you configure any EV on bmwusa.com now, you will actually see a "NEMA charger credit" of $250 at the summary page.
ps: mine came with the 220v adapter. edit: seems EV doesn't get impacted but PHEV is. they are prioritize EV as they should below is a screenshot from 750e configuration summary page Last edited by wagonallterrain; 12-09-2023 at 12:35 PM.. |
