I am more interested in the Oxide Gray than I thought I would initially be from your pictures. Does it have much of a “tan/brown” note in person? Seems less so in these pictures than I thought from seeing it elsewhere online.
I look forward to continued replies on this thread and your real-world experiences. Also interested in your uptake from a fast charger—how much range how quickly. That’s really the make or break for me. Do you feel like the interior has been downgraded/decontented? Presuming you came from multi-contour seats in the M550, do these seats articulate in the same way? And let us know if you find a good low profile USB C. I definitely prefer keeping my music that way—better control, better sound and you get the artwork when scrolling/selecting. |

Got mine yesterday. Here are some pictures (I will try to add a front view later - car was parked and hard to photograph). I love the car already, and I think t compares favorably with my i4 eDrive 40 with 15,000 miles, which I also love (my wife will drive the i5 mostly).
Some notes on things that stood out: 1) I hate the lack of shifter - only thing in the car that bothered me driving 50 miles or so yesterday. Also awkward is that you get car into park by pushing the stop button. It was clear that the car valet when we parked struggled with the settings. 2) The regenerative braking seems slightly more pronounced on regular drive setting than the i4. I wonder if this is related to age/use on the i4, or if the i5 is just done differently? Either way, I slow down more with foot off accelerator on the i5 than the i4. 3) Tires that came with i5 were 19" summers - Michelin e-Primacy. I wanted 19" A/S and BMW did not offer the option. I have ordered a set of Michelin primacy touring A/S that will arrive this week. My wife got frequent blowouts from potholes in her 540xi and I thought more rubber would help so wanted 19" and not 20" or 21". Also should get better miles/charge with the 19" wheels. 4) Car was mighty fast, as is my i4. I was concerned the eDrive 40, while great on i4, might be underpowered for i5, which is partly why I went for M60. 5) iDrive 8.5 will take some getting used to, but seems similar to the 8.0 except for shifter and rearranged screen button design. 6) Ride was very smooth. 7) Tried speed boost once - need to play with it more - I do not believe my i4 has this. 8) CarPlay navigation seems to work fine (but small sample size). Lots of bad experiences on the i4 for most of first year but they seem to have fixed on i4 as well. 9) Wireless charger has more of a delineated area for the phone. This should lead to better placement over the sensor and hopefully make some of the i4 iPhone charging/overheating issues go away. Will need more time to be more certain. Also the layout seems to have places for charging two phones, but the right hand side did not seem to offer power. 10) Leather seats seem more comfortable than the i4's. The look similar so I was surprised. I will add more as I think of notable features. |

Congrats! It looks awesome! Is that the Cooper brown interior? It looks a bit similar to tartufo from the pics. What kind of material is on the upper dash and upper door panels?

Yes, it's Tanzanite Blue II Metallic exterior with Copper Brown/Atlas Grey Extended Merino Leather upholstery.
I need to check the material of the upper dash and door panels. My wife has the car out now. I will post pictures later. Honestly I can't wait to see the car in sunlight. The blue is very dark - definitely darker than the dark Blue on our old 2018 540 xi (not sure what they called it that year). |

Great to see some deliveries! Looking forward to mine, currently in the production queue for two weeks.
How is the ambient lighting in the rear? Heard that was limited from some reports. And how does the rear vents look? If anyone has the rear heated seats, where are the buttons? Do you get the screen? Looks super weird without the door sills. Will have to check if M performance parts exist to add that. |

Just A few more photos. Just Got it 20% Ceramic Tinted all around. 35% windshield. It REALLY makes the Pop in person. I’ve been getting non stop questions about it. Really has great presence on the road.

How does it compare to your G30 M550i in terms of performance/being fast?

Thanks! They were just prepping the tint in that pic. This was before they applied it on the inside. I am looking to get PPF done as well soon though.

Love it! Congrats and enjoy! As someone who just entered the world of EVs with an iX M60, I’m really enjoying it and I’m sure you’re going to have a blast in the i5.

Great color choices. Pretty sure your 2018 540 would have been Mediterranean Blue like my 2019 540. Beautiful color and lighter than Tanzanite for sure. I had a 340i in Tanzanite Blue prior to my G30 and it looks so good in sunlight, but can look dark, almost black, in shade or at night.

Saw one in same spec on the M3 in the United Kingdom this morning. Was such a beast. Very monolithic and muscular looking in person a great cross between stately and sheer masculine sportiness.
