2) I do not feel offended as I love its looks and really do not care what others think 3) as I mentioned above -- did not get the M3 for the looks at all 4) Owned a G20 and thought it was the most boring BMW I owned over the last 18 years o BMWs ownerships ![]() |

The most comparable car I can think of is the newer-gen V8 vantage where a company came out with an aftermarket front bumper to reduce the size of its grill. Some bought it but it wasn't universally praised either. Same with the G80 and stock vs something like ADRO.

Whether LCI or pre-LCI, it’s still a G80. They both look sharp to me. I think I’m partial to the pre-LCI headlights at the moment, but I easily see the snake-eye headlights growing on me. (They already are.) This isn’t a full remodel, so IMO, there’s no polarizing differences. I think they did a great job on the LCI though. Subtle changes, serving the purpose of…an LCI. Will I cancel my order for it? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t wait a whole year for this, knowing that’s one less year I get with the G80 before the next gen remodel. It’s the same car with different headlights and maybe a tune? If I was in the market for one NEXT year though, would I want the LCI? Absolutely. Seize the moment whenever you can especially when the G80 may be the last all-ICE M3. Enjoy it while you can! |

Engine/car is certified for a certain emissions output and a certain speed. Power fluctuations over 5% are acceptable if the certified base engine hasn't been modified and if the software adaptations are within the legal (emissions) limits. Yes, we all know that those S58 engines in the M3 run pretty well but I have to say that I doubt those claims that the engines produce much more than the 5% I mentioned. Sometimes it is just dyno error. Those experienced with M3 dyno testing usually see a 20-30 hp power increase compared to what BMW is claiming. This is totally acceptable. Btw: In Germany, the TÜV is only the authority to verify the cars. The authority to certify the cars is the KBA. Regarding the laser lights: Apparently it isn't necessary anymore, BMW can achieve the same light "quality" with Matrix LED lights and it is possible to make thinner/smaller front lights without the laser lights. The more interesting part about the facelift (LCI) should be the weight: Not sure if some of you noticed but the last "minor" facelift made all the 3 series models (with the exception of the M3) heavier (by up to 50 kg). People barely noticed. I guess BMW is trying to save money... Last edited by RTC3000; 08-03-2023 at 04:21 AM.. |

As it turns out, seeing the '24 refresh in person, there are some things I like but other things I really don't. They took our interior color away, and while some parts of the interior are an upgrade, some are change for obvious cost cutting. Moreover, only the base models have been able to be delivered, as there are issues with certifying the S (coming this fall, they are sitting at port or on dealer lots) and the Hybrids have been pushed back to January at the latest. So I would have had to wait a year and not been as satisfied. If you are happy with the current G80, there is nothing in this LCI to really make you wait, IMO. Certainly on the outside. iDrive 8.5 or 9.0, maybe? Who knows. |

I'm thinking more GTS territory. It's not so much about what's the best driving car I can get... it's personal bucket list dream cars. I've had 3 since my childhood... m3, 911, a mid engined ferrari. M2 might be a great driving car, but it's not a dream of mine.

It looks like it's the first prototype so things will likely change.. hopefully we see some new tail lights.
