C7 Corvette wheel setup
Hey everyone. I'm asking this question here because the Corvette forums are worse than useless. My brother in law has a C7 Corvette and is looking for some nicer wheels while maintaining his current tire setup of 245/285. Stock wheel specs are 18x8.5 et 56 front and 19x10 et 79 rear. I suggested to perhaps look into a slightly more aggressive stance, but as I'm not familiar with the platform, was hoping to get some insight on what a good wheel spec would be on stock tires without causing any issue. Does anyone have any insight into this?
Here's the ridiculous response I got from Corvette forums:

LOL, gotta love the corvette forums. I just got rid of my C7 I owned for 5+ years and I never bother posting anything in there because it's all old, opinionated men.
Why is he looking to stick with stock tire sizes? Based on the 18s/19s I'm assuming this is not a Z51 car, correct? This is a good guide if looking to go a little more aggressive https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide |

Correct, it's a base C7. I think he's trying to minimize cost... basically wanting to improve the looks but not spending much to do it. What he REALLY wants is a G82, but isn't in a position to purchase one now, so thought he would just change the wheels on his C7 to get a fresh look. I made the suggestion that at the very least, if he's insistent on having the same tire setup, to get some wheels with a bit of offset and maybe slightly wider while still being within range of his current tires - give him a slightly wider, more aggressive stance while also setting him up for future, wider tires if he chooses to.

Thanks guys for the info. I knew I could count on a BMW forum to provide me with more useful info on Corvettes than a Corvette forum could

What he really wants is a G82, but isn't in a position to afford one at the moment. So he's just gonna hold on to his C7 and get some new wheels for it.
