fanboys and haters aside, the most hated car on Bimmerpost is faster than anything in its price range you can buy, bar none (err ... i could be wrong but i don't think so)

it doesn't have the build quality of a Porsche, it doesn't have the quality control of Apple, but it's designed better than a Toyota and it's not a bad car. coz i don't mind having one! i also don't mind having a Model 3 Performance.

i drove my M340i to test drive a Kia EV6 AWD GT Line (not GT GT) and i told the rep the Kia drove better than my M340i. it was the perfect car. corners like on rails, quieter than M340i, super responsive gas pedal. I actually put an order for the Kia but while waiting, bought a M550i instead. yes i'm the biggest of petrolheads and i used to ridicule everyone that drove an EV until I bought a Nissan Leaf. yes a Nissan Leaf converted me.

if I could afford a Plaid i'd buy it in a heartbeat. no it won't replace a M5 CS but I want both. before all new BMWs are going touch screen. I'd rather have a Plaid than a G60 M60e or whatever they call it. harder to pick between a Plaid and a GT4 / GT3 but the GT4/GT3 doesn't excite me, the Plaid does. every EV i drive is mindnumbingly impressive against every strain of DNA in my body that tells me they cannot be. they are different things - downhill skiing vs ski touring. same but different.

i don't think I'll ever get a Plaid because firstly my money don't grow on trees, and i want another car to give me quad in wheel motor EV with lighter battery and better range and charging infrastructure to exist, so for now, EV in town, gas out of town.

i hope they won't get rid of gas. don't mind holding on to my 2 gas cars forever (if they don't implode ... common BMW ...!)

I'm still probably going to get a taycan turbo GT. What exciting times we live in where a streetcar can pull a sub 2 second 0-60. I have to wonder where we will be in 10-20 years after this matures and hopefully we don't have crap batteries. Can ya'll imagine this much power in a 3000lb chassis? The mcmurty spierling is but a taste. I still will miss my loud exhaust noises though.

Best 60-130 I've done with my 720s was in the low 5 second range, and I believe the Plaid does it in 4.5 seconds.

Despite the comments on this board, there are numerous super car owners who have a Plaid or Taycan as a daily.

Love watching Brooks Dragtimes videos. However, he only goes fast in a straight line so some here find it laughable. Despite owning a Ford GT40, McLaren 765LT and Ferrari SF90, he also owns a plaid so he can't be an enthusiast since EV owners and enthusiast don't mix.

If you follow his videos he’ll even say the plaid ruined it for him lol. He still buys his supercars and he just picked up his z06 like a month ago.

But he ran 9.2 on the street and 9.5 at 50% soc which is crazy.

His 765 will def beat a plaid on the top top top top top end but the plaid has already shown from 0-160, it’s unmatched unless you come with something that has 1500whp.

The Porsche owner buying the plaid right there in the video was funny though lmao. They all own insanely fast cars and they conceded, that the plaid is unbeatable.

Maybe I'm just old now but I could really care less about how fast the car is. If it's under 4 seconds 0-60 it's fast enough. So many of these supercars are too fast for the street when you're driving in speed limit zones of 35-55 mph. Give me a bit of luxury and awesome sound with my slow as molasses 911 GTS and I'm all set.

Had a Capristo exhaust but replaced it with McLaren sports exhaust. My car is totally stock apart from slightly wider Toyo R888r tires.

Had a vibration/rattle issue with the exhaust so replaced it with the sports exhaust. The 720s makes huge gains with a tune, but it would void my warranty.

Don't do a gintani tune or something else, Stick to a plain basic M-Engineering tune and call it good.
