I’m looking forward to the G60 and hope it’s a great success, but in my opinion the i5 won’t be a popular option…especially if the price point is north of 80k. |

Depending on how tall the rear passengers are, the SUV can get a nod. But frankly a tall person won’t have much room in the second row of the X5 either. GLE maybe, since you can adjust its second row backwards. I think the German auto makers can keep their mid size sedans going. 5 series, E class, S5/6. I see a lot of those cars on the road. But Cadillac only has two sedans now and no 7 series/S Class competitor. I think the older crowd is also moving to SUV’s because they’re easier on the knees and back for entry and exit. Basically, I get what you’re saying. I think it’s a trend built on as much misconception as anything. I hate that Volvo is the only one with a good looking, every day wagon. But I know it’s been a trend for a while now to move to an SUV.

Well, they are. Yes you can dump stuff into a sedan's trunk, but to reach that stuff on the road is a hassle - diaper bag, toy bag, extra pillows, snack bag...etc.
In places with tall curbs, a sedan will scrape its bumper earlier than SUVs. To go camping with a traditional sedan...well...you won't go very far off the road. |

Key word “currently” G30 is F30 generation, G20 looks more modern in every way for comparison. I love my G30 too but won’t say even the LCI is best looking, it’s showing it’s age.

The best 5 series so far is F10 in my opinion which i had. 528i. It was a beast.

Cant decide. Too many BMWs these days are cat on the wall in terms of design. Gone or those days, where it was love at first sight for the majority.

Funny how headlight design plays such a huge role in appearance. The pre-LCI F10/G30 look much older, and the headlights are the only major difference. |

Very true
The pre LCI g30 adaptive led were and still are good looking lifts, the standard ones being , well bland but very obviously bmw See the M badge on the g60 picture, looks very out of place there This picture is using a wide angle lens which is not going to do the car any favours (same as portraits , a mild telephoto makes someone look better) Wonder if these are 21 inch wheels there as they seem to fill the wheel wells. We’ll just a few more days before we get to see it all . To me it’s looking like a scaled down i7 with a more conservative front . I had a close look at an i7 the other day and it did nothing for me. |

Front looks potentially aggressive and sleek, but is probably also the most conventional.
Side profile looks boring IMO. Very little accentuation, and not even something like a (faux) air breather or folding line (like the 3er and 4er) to break up the emptiness. Hopefully the M5 has a bit more bite to it. |

Clearly it’s a very subjective conversation.

I also really like the F10 styling a lot. I almost bought one of those before I bought my first 5 series - a 2018 540i.
