I'm sure it's awesome. My hotel of choice in the Caribbean is the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach in Cancun. The beach is sort of cordoned from the other hotels by rocks on either side, the service and spa are phenomenal though the rooms are a bit aging at this point. I've been there 17 times in the last 25 years, but not the last 3. I haven't been since it became all inclusive, which IMO is a bad thing. But will still go back.
Check out Secrets the Vine if you will. It was amazing....great location, renovated I think in 2014 maybe.

So, this year will be our 6th Sandals since 2015. My wife always wants the butler service and it's fine, but I could take it or leave it. We haven't done the same one twice. Royal Caribbean was probably our favorite or the most fun...probably because it was our 1st and didn't know what we were walking into. Least fun was Montego Bay, but that was mainly due to all the covid changes. Grenada is next in Oct. Not sure what that one will be like.

I'm watching St Lucia on Global passport. It seems AMAZING, but I don't know if Christina will come back or not

Jade Mountain looks wild when you can't even close the exposed wall

Ouch.

My ex-wife and I always just got the cheapest room we could. The room was for showering/sleeping/--------. The rest of the time should be at the beach, pool, bar, having someone bring you drinks/food, or your res for dinner.

If I had to guess, I'd bet it's that most of the countries in the Caribbean have anti-homosexuality/gay marriage laws.

Although I don't if it's like "weed" is illegal in Jamaica outside of Rasta's and no legal for public use.............but apparently is only enforced against tourists as a way to extort some money out of them by the local police.

I've been to a couple of the Jamaican ones, but also the Bahamas Emerald Bay and Barbados.

Emerald bay is on Exuma and so is a bit more out of the way, but there isn't a ton to do off the resort if you're looking for a city to explore. The property itself was nice, and has a HUGE beach. Feels like its unlikely to get crowded. It stood out as newer feeling than most. A lot of Sandals you can really feel how they have distinct sections. However I wouldn't go in January again. Too cold that far north to really want to swim.

Barbados is probably one of my favorites. Its a narrow and deep property. When we were there is was in transition from being a secrets. Rooms themselves weren't special, but Barbados is a great place. There is a ton to do off the resort.
