Got the X6M Bug.
Unfortunately as the title states, I'm smitten with the X6M. I checked out AutoTempest and ironically found the spec I want first, also the cheapest one. The CarFax shows 2 minor incidents and it's originally a FL car, so there's that
Anyway it's now in Monterey Park at Topline Automotive. Has anyone checked it out yet? It's been for sale for a bit now so I'm wondering what's wrong with it. Has anyone on here checked it out and passed on it? Thanks in advance. https://www.topline168.com/vehicle-d...ource=cars.com |

Probably a little bumper rash on a couple of occasions based on the reports. The frame seems solid. If this is not an issue, I suggest using it to knock off a couple thousand on this 112k mileage car.

I've had luck with higher mileage cars and great deals can be had on that side of the market. Make sure to have it properly inspected so you can make an informed decision and calculate cost of reconditioning and preventative maintenance.
Id suggest finding as much about the history of the car as you can, as SteveinArizona said there could be something under the rug. Beautiful spec! |

Absolutely my concern with the worst of it being flood damage. Those cars get shipped everywhere.

I have no experience with flood cars, but I believe their titles get branded so obviously ask to see the title before you invest much time in researching this.
100k miles would scare the heck out of me, but if it's your game then play ball! |

I've no experience with this engine but my N52 has 140k and running as strong as ever. No leaks & no lights on the cluster, but that's because I can turn a wrench and take care of issues as they crop up. I'll definitely do research before picking up one of these as it may not be this one. Times are weird now.

Be careful on the titles as some may have "salvage" on it. |

While it is marked as a salvage title, there are apparently ways for shady persons to sell the car a couple of times and eliminate the salvage title.

Agreed, I always found the X6 hideous.

I certainly would get it scanned before and after a good test drive…and besides going over it throughly, would probably get it I looked at by a trusted indy, even BMW. If ever there was a BMW X6M to look at it’s the 2014 M. Fellas in the X6 side of XBimmers wish they had not let their E71 go, one had owned every X6M and now has a 2022. I started a thread on this - as I’m keeping mine. As this is a hot climate vehicle - check the maint throughly, for baked and brittle hoses etc. Would I buy one that was modded…likely no…but if it’s removed, how would you know… Last edited by Bilbofraggins; 01-11-2022 at 07:20 PM.. |

I wouldn't buy any recent BMW with one of the "hot vee" V8 engines. They're all trash. And without a comprehensive warranty? Absolutely NOT!!

When I wrote the first X6 article for Roundel, I believe I led with the line: "The answer to a question nobody asked." I've sold more X6s this year than I ever have since they came out. I just hold my nose and take the money. |

X6 Bug
I do got inflicted with the bug - recently purchased a 2013 - 60, 000 miles, no accidents and an impressive maintenance history - in Canada - $27,500 USD- Have an independant shop do a complete inspection. Accidents happen, no issue as long as no structural damage, Best of luck
