Remote engine start not becoming available
Just bought a new 2022 m240i and purchased the remote engine option in the connected drive store. Since then I have
-updated apps and services -remote software upgrade -hard reset holding volume button -taken to dealership to have technician work on it -called bmw genius and had IT work on it And I still don't have the feature to remote engine start. Anyone else having same issues or did I order a lemon I waited 4 months for |

I've helped a few customers with this tedious process.
After I check that that the remote start shows up in the iDrive connected store, I shut the car off. You should see a prompt something along the lines of "activate new function". Once that's clicked that's when the download process begins which takes roughly 5 minutes. After that you'll go into the climate settings and turn it on. |

I guess that make more sense. At first I was thinking Id' have left the car and stolen / kept whatever loaner you got, until they fixed it.
It could be a corporate thing, someone somewhere didn't process that you should have the feature and haven't beamed it to the car yet. I see the frustration now. They are both pointing fingers at each other. THIS is why I hate some of the "features" of new cars. Just build the damned feature into the car and sell it that way. None of this crap you are dealing with now. It's a money grab on their part and it's backfiring and you are suffering for it. Not that it helps you to hear that! If I had to give advice I'd take it back to the dealer and leave it until they fix it. If they think it's a problem w/ BMW corporate or whatever, it seems like they should work with them to fix it. Basically just tell them they sold you a faulty car and you're leaving it there until it's working properly. Of course you need a loaner set up ahead of time... And I know this is easier said than done, but at this point you have every reason to be mad and stop messing with it. |

Send BMW a certified letter giving them 10 business days to fix it or you are going to initiate the lemon law process. That should get them moving.
