I had previously tried minoxidil foam but didn't keep up with it, may have helped reduce some loss but wasn't effective on it's own for me. Figured I've give it one more try before giving up and happy with the results so far.

That is impressive. Is finasteride still prescription only? I regret not staying on Propecia

Yes, you can get a prescription online, CVS does it I believe. But it's better to get it from your family doctor if you have one.

1mg Finasteride and Rogain 5%. Used to use 2% Nizoral shampoo, but it's prescription. Back at 24 got super bad balding. Initially it was working wonders, but at 30 now it's slowed down. Still better than nothing and I may stop Finasteride soon and just keep the Rogain. No side effects by the way and had 2 kids since then. You are more likely to crash in your BMW speeding than have Finasteride side effects .

Lot of "guesses" in this thread

Regenepure is a solid hair loss shampoo. It has Ketoconazole which is proven to help

Ketoconzole 2% used 3x a week for a duration of 10 mins on the scalp has mild anti-androgenic effects i.e. inhibition (androgen (DHT)= effect on individuals who are sensitive to the hormone causing hair loss) therefore can reduce hair loss (however this product is weaker in hair promoting effect in comparison to the FDA/MHRA of minoxidil)

If you are really struggling you need to tackle it from 3 angles. I would recommend Minoxidil foam (topical) + Regenepure or Nizoral (shampoo) + Finasteride (oral)

Long term effects: impotence, smaller balls and, firing blanks.

Not worth it.
This is a treatment you can test the waters with, without causing any lasting damage. If you notice some sort of unwanted side effects within the first month, simply stop taking it. There is a small percentage that can experience negative side effects. I've taken it for 10 years now to maintain, still have my hair, with no negative consequences like that.

Regarding infertility,
"There is a suggestion that some problems with fertility may be present in long term users of finasteride. Questions of sperm count and sperm motility have been an issue; but a cause and effect between the drug and this finding have not been proven as low sperm counts and low sperm motility are present in many men who do not take finasteride. I have advised men with low sperm counts or low sperm motility who are on finasteride, to stop the drug if pregnancy becomes a problem. We do know that when using Dutasteride, a more powerful DHT blocker, that fertility is a problem."

I had a friend in his 20s who suffered from hair loss. He went for a hair regrowth therapy- whatever they called it. His hair started growing back. He said they would do a deep massage on his (then almost bald) head using warm coconut oil. At the scalp is where hair growth is stimulated. I've no experience of this but just sharing from his.

My husband has been doing an experiment since last year where he quit using all products and shampoos/conditioners in his hair all together. Since then, his hair has noticeably recovered more so than when I met him 5 years ago. He washes his hair with just water in the shower. Not sure where he read about it, but it was something to try.

Or just use baby shampoo once a week washing mildly just once at a time. The more hair oil you wash out the more you're likely to lose hair.

as far as shampoos etc.. I know its personal for everyone but I say just buzz it and save your money. I think unless you get a hair transplant the other stuff seems to either not work or only work for a very small set of people. just my 2 cents but again I get it, its a touchy subject for sure! invest that energy and money you spend on worrying about hair and create wealth. then nobody will care about you being bald when your a baller
