With that logic, then you’d have to say that everyone has to ride the same bike, wear the same sneakers and it could go on and on. As a former horse trainer and shower, a lot of it is training your horse and becoming one with it. Horses have been used as transportation for thousands of years. It should absolutely be part of the Olympics.

But. Every time I watch any of it, even just a 5 min summary, it leaves me feeling horrible. Especially if it's gymnastics or something like that. I just feel like the most pathetic waste of oxygen on the planet.

So I avoid watching, even though I basically love watching. Anyone else get that?
This is hilarious. Thanks for the post. I love the Olympics but usually have far less reverence for the networks airing them. I don't need to see one specific gold-medal game 6 times. I want to see a well-balanced presentation of all the games. This year it's been a bit better as you can watch live, rerun, internet and streaming and get pretty much anything you want. Assuming, of course, that you have access to all the technology.

My wife watched it everyday. I caught maybe 15 minutes total. This morning she watched the closing ceremony (DVR).

Whole thing was too PC for me. Where is Jim McKay and ABC's Wide World of Sports"?

Or all the surfers ride the same wave...

Basketball, baseball, tennis, and golf. Why are those included? You can see that stuff anytime it is in season. Boring.

Oh dear

The olympics has been extra special this year if anything.
Witnessing fellow humans commit and execute their talents during
a global pandemic and extreme heat has been nothing short of awe inspiring!

You are missing out on a lot of joy and synergy by not sharing in others
gifts and talents - mental and physically.

My hope is you stop sabotaging your best self by pretending you don’t deserve to be healthy or fit. Baby steps, commitment, you can do it. The human body is
amazingly resilient.

My other hope is that you continue to learn how talented and gifted you are in areas you never realized.

Do the Olympics still hold Judo / TKD / wrestling events...?

Just got back to society after being away for work for a few weeks and as the highlights I catch on any media I come across this week seems to be focused on gymnastics, volleyball, basketball and soccer (female teams only, at that)

Just curious since as a kid, I remember watching some great judo matches during the Olympics when bootleg cable was plentiful, lol
