Bmw X5 interior with a twist. Check it out here:
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Se...irst-pictures/ Basically it's like a touch-screen panel that only lights up when you move your hand towards it. Call me old fashioned, tech is great, I love it, but I think this will go towards making car interior more bland. I hate interiors that have a solid aluminium finish centre console. It looks so tacky and cheap. Trim is called "trim" for a reason, it should be to accent the interior design. It can be wood or aluminium, but it should be huge sections like this.

I do like wacky interiors, not tacky ones though. The CS concept is hot:
I like this too: It was quite smart of Audi to incorporate the detachable media controls within the air-con vents.

A touch panel with no positive button feedback in a moving vehicle can't be an ideal or experientially satisfying. It's an elegant look but also gimmicky, could be appropriate for a lux sedan (thought that market would be the least likey to accept it) but not for a sporty car.
The wave is too much here, it would have been stronger and more consistent to have kept the minimalist hard line throughout. |

The floating dashboard is a bit of design ripoff from the newer Volvo's.
Hmmm...I'm not sure I like how it looks...maybe if they took it back to the drawing boards and tweaked some of the colours. Does not look like it will be very visible in strong sunlight...barely visible as is in the photo! |

either way... I stopped using touch screen phones because of driving... it's not practical... I'd hate to have touch instruments in my car...

it looks ugly when the lights are off. It would look very bad when some one is looking ad saying "why is there a big ass blank silver panel with a knob in the middle?"
