Do you bring food to work for everyone?
Anyone here bring food to work like all the time? I haven't brought in food for about 2 weeks and these coworkers of mine seemed to be pissed off. The last time I brought in food was when I ordered four large gourmet pizzas, so I decided that I wouldn't bring in food for a while because I contributed to a big meal already.

Yeah, I always bring my lunch. Anyways, they always tell me that my lunch smells really good after I heat it up and they say I should bring enough for everyone. Bring in enough for everyone? Yeah right.

If your co-workers are generally cool people I dont see why not bring them some food. If anything you should bring something small but great in taste value like a cake that should shut them up

I have a coworker she brings and bakes her own cakes quite often. To be honest, I don't have to the time to bake my own cake and buying a cake will make you look like you're trying too hard.

Unless your salary is like triple theirs, I wouldn't buy more food for everyone else until other people bring in food. And I'm not talking just the other coworker. Otherwise, they're just freeloading. Where I work, we have like a rotation of people bringing in food and that works fine, but if it's always just you, I say screw them lol.

We got this stupid tradition at my work. When it is your birthday, you have to bring in something; doughnuts or bagels.
I just hate those people who check the birthday list everyday expecting a free breakfast..

Agreed. Bringing in food for people every now and then is fine, but if they start getting pissy about not getting a free meal, that's just messed up.

Hah, where I work, you have to bring in a cake on your own birthday! There's this bitch at work who started working in my dept. last year and she eats everything people bring yet she never brings in food. Guess what, she took a vacation day on her birthday and she never brought anything in before or after her birthday.

Food and work, almost always a bad idea. Just about every argument involving several people in my dept involves food. We actually had to fire a woman who physically threatened another employee over some freaking danish. They keep chipping in to order lunch from some place or other, then everyone freaks if one person takes one french fry or drum stick more than the rest, and the shit really hits the fan if someone that didn't chip in goes near the stuff, even if everyone is finished and stuffed to the gills. I'm a VP at a company with over 3000 employees, revenue in the billions, and I've had people in their 30s and 40s in my office screaming over a missing fifty cent donut.
And what do I hear the next day as I pass through the department? "Hey, any of you guys wanna go in on some pizzas?" |

I bring donuts sometimes when I come in late. People do seem to appreciate it, but don't do it too often or they will expect it every time.
