I was in the RS4 for the Audi event as well and that car is fast as hell. What impressed me the most is the Sports button that completely transform the car into a big shouting beast. The exhaust note is pretty intoxicating and the adpative suspension protects the passenger from the biggest potholes in LA. Clearly the RS4 is the faster and more technologically advance car compare to the current M3 but it's also 5-6 years late? Compare to the new M3, pricing wise, the M3 will be a bargain.
Oh guys please resize those 5 series photos. I think I am going to go blind looking at those feline headlamps. Bangle sucks. If I have one I'd tint the windows so no one knows I own such an ugly car. It's E92 M3 all the way.. |

Not hate its more a question of design.
Since far away they have explored one engine 1.9 cm3 from 75 hp to 150 hp, diesel style, until they broke and only now 10 years after a new engine 2.0 140cv. In the way a lot of people with serious complaints. Not me i was in HONDA for 12 years perhaps the best car with not only a single problem, nothing lol. Kaiser chiefs and Artic monkeys of course. Audi is definately stepping it up and they are making some pretty legitamate cars to compete with bmw. THey make some nice cars but I still think Bmw offers the ultimate package. THe new Rs4 is a really nice car and I hate to admit it but I love the interior of the car. But the audi does have many styling cues in the interior that Bmw has used in the past but doesnt use anymore. Just wait until the new m3 comes out. The problem with audi is that they have the engine is in front of the front axle. Bernd Pischetsrieder, went to Audi and smugly proclaimed that Audi would be making high performance luxury cars "the way BMW used to".
I wouldnt be worried too much about the new m3. It is going to be an insane car that is going to blow the competition right out of the water. BMW ALL THE Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I believe youre right SANK ive added the link just for curiosity, its an ancient dispute between BMW and audi, lol.
I am with BMW but certainly many are with audi, its a matter of choice, free of course. Ingolstadt, Munchen or Stuttgart! Last edited by N1; 05-08-2006 at 02:48 AM.. |

The RS4 is in its own niche at the moment. But I would prefer a bare bones 997 if you are going to spend that kind of cash. E90 M3 or 335si preferable unless 4wd is desired; if I lived in Colorado or the mountain west it could be the hot ticket.

Now as a FUTURE CAR 2006 audi rs4 for audi fans.
http://www.automobilemag.com/future_...0503_audi_rs4/ "The hugely expensive Audi RS4— an M3 wannabe— eschews the turbos of yore for a new 8250 rpm redline, 4.2 liter, unmuzzled V8. This engine stuffed behind the new horse collar grille that’s all the rage at the four rings produces a healthy 400 plus horsepower at 7800 rpm. Admittedly BMW didn’t invent the high rpm consumer engine, that crown goes to Honda and its many wonderful 4 bangers, but BMW added torque to the hp and rpm equation as well as cylinders. And if your S54 didn’t blow up yet, you know what a sweet result that is. It’s obvious, in the world of cars, BMW with all its warts is still the benchmark."http://mydrive.roadfly.com/blog/HRJr/BMW/ and http://www.motortrend.com/future/con...2006_audi_rs4/ they say it will face the new M3 but it is not a RS3 instead its a 4 ! |

In 2006 BMW will kick it up a notch in the sports coupe market with the much anticipated next generation E90 M3.
Both Coupe and Cabriolet models are planned with a new addition of a 4 door sedan not seen since the E36 platform. The initial idea considered was a 4 door M3 saloon and a 2 door M4 coupe. But recently BMW has changed their minds and keep the legendary M3 coupe alive. Internal pressure from the BMW board was too great to kill it off. Therefore, the M3 coupe, M3 saloon and an M3 cabriolet in addition to an M4 2 door coupe/cabriolet will be developed. The M3 coupe will feature a 6 Series like glasshouse with the possibility of a new distinct interior. The front will sport a new aggressive yet subtle bumper while the rear will display quad exhausts like the new M5. Power will come from a new lightweight V8 producing around 400hp and uses the latest dual-VANOS variable valve timing system. New engine building technology and lightweight materials mean the engine should amazingly weigh the same as the outgoing 3.2 liter in-line 6 cylinder from the current E46 M3 but with considerably more power. Image During early testing of the cabriolet version of the 3 series BMW experimented with both a normal canvas roof and a hard folding top but decided on the canvas due to weight savings and maintenance. The new M3 is slated to arrive in early 2006 with a 2005 Frankfurt debut and the cabriolet will have a Geneva 2006 debut with sales beginning in summer 2006. The SMG transmission will come standard and a CSL version of the coupe with excess of 420hp is being planned as well. The M4 will also feature theV8 engine mentioned above in the M3 and should go on sale later. No further details are known. A concept for the regular 4 Series is slated for Frankfurt in September. Image But for that match i want M4. Your car is fantastic diesel007. |

Like it or not its similar to TOYOTA v. LEXUS or HONDA v. ACURA.
Lamborghini AND FERRARI are high concept cars with 5 litres, v 12 and they cannot match fiat punto but the golf and the a3 are from the same size. So the big issue is that vw owns audi and the brand for competition is SEAT for instance in WRC. And we dont have any problems with that. lol M4 Coupé A high-performance BMW M4 Coupé will use the 3.2 L engine from the M3 . This engine produces 343 hp (256 kW). It is set to rival the Porsche Cayman, and is expected to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds, with a limited top speed of 250 km/h. That is the question. |
