I'm loving carsandbids.com
I find myself attached to this carsandbids.com site. It very interesting and addicting too Anyone used it before? Doug is doing an excellent job filtering out traditional cars and keeping the site enthusiasts friendly

Just don't get the draw of those sites. It's fun to window shop I suppose (or to get a pulse on a specific market) and every once in a very long while you can get a deal, but most of the interesting stuff has a reserve and the fees are preposterous.
The most enjoyable part of car hunting is the search. Why would I pay 4.5 to 5% to someone else for that? Georgia already has high vehicle taxes, so I have to tack on 11-12% plus shipping onto the hammer price. Definitely a good racket to be in though. Between that site and his YouTube back catalog, DeMuro can probably retire. The original BaT guys made out like bandits as well. |

I'm not too impressed with Cars & Bids. I've been subscribed to the emails for a couple months now and for it being a site "for enthusiasts", there's a lot of cars on there that couldn't be considered an enthusiast's car.
I prefer BAT

YEah agree there's a lot of junk or old man cars there.
BAT is utterly brilliant, the listings are outstanding, the layout is simple and clean, the detail is immense and the knowledge of the community is first rate. |

Anything over $50K sits at market value, but great site to find a specific car |

Yeah to be fair most are in great shape. I was drooling over a 997 GTS that went for 68K plus fees which is a VERY fair price for an absolute cream puff that's barely been driven.

Based on the above posts, I went and checked BaT and definitely agree it has some exclusive cars ... I saw a V10 manual M5 and wow .... I have to admit though I'm not expert in that market, all my cars have been bought new

I sold my S62 6MT swapped E38 and the guy who bought it put it on carsandbids.com and it got featured in Doug's video. I don't think it went for as much as the owner was looking to get, because he probably barely covered his costs from what he bought it off me for, plus the money he put into it.
Seems like a good alternative to BaT. It will take some time to reach BaT levels of volume since it is new. But it is picking up faster than I thought it would. |

these types of sites are cool for browsing. also if you have a unique/rare item as the sites layout is great for pictures/info (much better than ebay or autotrader).
but BaT charges a lot for their services. there is a 5% fee on top of the winning bid.

Not sure why that is part of your discontent with this specific auction site? |

I look at neither because:
1) I don't need any more cars and there's always eye candy on BaT 2) They're not really cars for me as most of mine are drivers. I don't really believe in buying mint no mileage cars, although I know BaT more well "used" cars either. But then I don't see the point in paying the higher fees. I would say all my M's are on the rarer side, and I've found 2 of them on Autotrader (both dealerships) and one was local Facebook ad/car group. - E92 M3 Sparkling Graphite/Bamboo Beige with a CF roof and 6MT - E36 M3 Techno Violet/Dove 5MT - Z4M Roadster Alpine White/Red, no nav There are still plenty of deals to be had, granted only 1 of them was an enthusiast owned car which might be important to some people.

My discontent is with paying a 4.5% to 5% fee to compete with other buyers and miss out on the part of car buying I enjoy the most. It just makes no sense for me - clearly there is a market for other people though. |

I have to say I've also been enjoying cars and bids as well. I feel while Bring a Trailer does have tons of beautiful Cars on there, its very predictable as to what you'll see. This obviously isn't the same level, but I do enjoy seeing some more rare and quirky cars on here, especially more of which is more approachable in price.
