2022 Cadillac CT4-V And CT5-V Blackwings Shown Ahead Of Their Debut On Monday

https://www.carscoops.com/2021/01/20...but-on-monday/

The CT5 looks more enticing than the CT4 with 650hp, 650lb-ft, and standard 6MT.

We'll see how the reviews are, but I'd get this over an M5 CS, maybe even an M3. Probably under $100k fully loaded, and maybe some massive discounts on leftover stock like the Chevy SS had in its final year. BTW, SS still holds its value really well.

Have to give Cadillac props for making this and offering a stick to save the manuals.

If they add AWD to lay that power down...

Both cars look hideous and Cadillac is a dead brand to me. They ruined the V badge and seem to change model names every year - What is CT4 or CT5?

Get the previous gen car and save $50k. Same powertrain.

Yeah I'm not so sure on Cadillac nomenclature. I'm assuming the CT4 is the 3 series competitor and CT5 the 5 series competitor.

CT4 does look like ass, but the CT5 could be nice.

I never got into Cadillacs, but I'd still give them some credit for making it at an attainable price (w/ a manual option).

I even had an ATS-V. It was a good car indeed. Says nothing about these two blackwings that haven’t even been released yet.

The prior CTS-V was already the best driving car in its class compared to the RS7, E63S, M5 and Panny Turbo.
Yeah, how do they (and a few others, like Porsche) nail electronic steering, where BMW falls so flat on their face?

I despise GM with a passion, but without a doubt I see more passion and focus from their performance divisions than I see out of BMW. Whether it be the C8 Corvette, Camaro line, or Blackwing models. And even the basic Cadillac sedans drive a whole hell of a lot better than comparable BMWs.

Sure most of the aforementioned vehicles are market failures, but I'll give credit where it's due.

We don't get Cadillac here, but this looks like a styling step backwards from the previous cts v. I liked that they were angular and doing something different.

I see they finally moved on from the '90s Cavalier instrument gauges. That simple failure alone was what kept a lot of folks from the ATS-V.....and the chrome wheels which should be forever banned from a performance vehicle.

1) Putting that disgusting 10 speed automatic in a performance car like that is a ridiculously bad idea. Why not the 8 speed dual clutch from Corvette or the 8 speed ZF?
2) No AWD in the heavy and overpowered CT5 Blackwing, is that correct? A GM Hellcat? Good luck with that.
3) Still using that massive archaic supercharged 6.2L V8 while the competition has long moved on to the much more efficient yet equally powerful twin-turbo 4.0-4.4L V8 setup? Very innovative.

GM knows full well that they will never be the sales king in the M3/M5 class, therefore limited production is a genius idea. Limited production is vague (without actual numbers) so, we'll see if they sell all examples. Are we talking M2CS production numbers?

I would take the Camaro ZL1 instead. Same specs but cheaper, cooler, quicker.

I'm glad the interior is at least passable now but they made the exteriors uglier than last gen. GM does have some of the best chassis engineers in the business so I expect they will be very good track performers much like last gen. Unfortunately like last gen I expect few people will buy them.

Well as long as the interior is an upgrade... and it looks like it is. As long as that bullshit CUE system is gone and replaced by say Apple Carplay and the dash doesn't have cheap plastics and we get the virtual cockpit... these will be huge upgrades.

call me weird, but i love the look of the CT4. I still think its overpriced, blackwing or not, considering how much of the cars are built out of an existing parts bin.
