Object Lesson
Whether you have a son, a daughter or both...this picture can be used as a life lesson.
If you have a son: Son, if you work hard and accumulate great wealth, you can date or marry anyone you want. Success is the great equalizer. If you have a daughter: Pumpkin, if you don't pay attention in school, don't do well in life and are forced to depend on someone, you could end up like this young lady. One picture. Two stories.

Thank you MK!
OK....I have one more; This sounds too crazy to be true, but it happened.... In May 2008, while visiting Italy and Paris, we traveled from Tuscany to Venice via train, checking into our hotel a few blocks off of St Mark's Square. We were only there two nights as we were then traveling to Nice for a few nights and used this location to take the train to Monaco for the 2008 Monaco GP (the only GP I've seen live to this day) and we sat in Casino Square in front of a huge screen where we could see track action; back to my story. We'll never forget asking a street vendor what we should do as we were only two days in Venice, and she said...."go out to dinner this eve, drink wine and get lost"....she said all roads lead back to the canal and we'll be fine. After dinner that eve, it was raining and we "got lost" and my wife said "Bruce! look straight ahead"....we had stumbled upon The Ferrari Store. We ran from storefront awning to storefront awning to avert the rain, and when we opened the door, there it was.....Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F1 car just sitting there. I was frozen. I spent a half hour taking in every view angle I could. What was so incredibly surprising was to discover just how very small the car is....the 13 inch rims, etc, etc. Once my wife peeled me away from the machine, we took in the items for sale such as a replica of a modern day (2008) Ferrari F1 steering wheel, jackets, souvenirs, etc. It is difficult to describe finding a Ferrari store that sold memorabilia and MS's championship winning Ferrari F1 machine on a side street in Venice.

Such a great memory! Monaco is a goal of mine! The size of the cars is always shocking when you first see them. If you have a chance to see older cars, Pre-80s, you can really get a feeling of how dangerous it was back then. I sat in a mock-up at the Mercedes Museum years ago and got the heebie-jeebies when I saw and felt the construction of the cars. And never forget that you were surrounded by fuel back then. Nothing can go wrong there!!! Thanks for sharing the memories! Cheers-mk

Whenever anyone mentions Ross Brawn I'm always reminded of the 1994 season with all the shady shenanigans that Benneton got up to.
It was an endless list of (mostly true) allegations of illegality against the team...but principally launch control, traction control and most famously the removal of the filter in the refuelling rigs leading to: |
