I had a friend who built a 911 Turbo for the Texas Mile with his wife's reluctant permission. He did a test run at a 1/2 mile event and it scared her so crap-less that he was banned from doing the event. It was a 700+ HP 911 about 5 years ago.

Another acquaintance died last year at a 1/2 mile event here at NOLA. Not my cup of tea but I salute those who have the balls to do them. I prefer going around turns fast, braking, and accelerating. Waiting for something to possibly blowup or fail for a whole mile, flat stick, isn't my thing.

That's incredible and very impressive! I feel like the video sort of takes away the WOW factor though and doesn't do this accomplishment justice. Not sure if it was the angles at which they were shooting, the brightness/color of the overlay when editing, or sound, but it just looked a bit bleh and felt like there's a lot more to be desired, IMO.
