Father, I have sin. I did a bad thing today

After picking my son at the school and heading back to my office on I95, a very nice E46 330i cut in front of us. It was a big deal, since I always drive defensively. The traffic was on the heavy side, moving around 25 to 40 mph. In the next 2 minutes, he was dancing between lanes about 4 to 5 times. Damn…. this guy is just abusing this situation. OK, I was driving a minivan (a brand new Pacifica), but there is no reason to cut in front of people very 20 sec. In his last attempt, I stepped on the pedal and obviously my mom-mobile was no match with his 330i. However, he underestimated the situation:

1. I sit higher than him and pick the fast lane faster.
2. I am not afraid of getting into an accident.

I pulled into the shoulder (left) and drove into his front fender. He slowed down and pull away. He then pull into the center lane and tried the race with me. Again I drove into his front fender again force him onto the median. I was then back into center lane and slow down and wait for him catch up from the left lane, but he kept his distance. I quickly switched to right lane and get ready to exit I95 since I already missed my exit

I hate to do this to other drivers, especially to BMW drivers. may be I was not in good hood or may it is a beautiful day. I learned a long time ago when I drove taxi cab in NYC. You will never win if you are worry about accident.

Enjoy your E90 and have fun. Lever the mom-mobiles alone.

Yikes! I try to mind my own business and forget any insult on the road. It's not that I'm a wimp, it's just that well...

True. I got annoyed at a guy that was tailgating me once and hit the brakes to piss him off. The guy was a complete psycho. He literally lost it, tried to run me off the road, pounding his fists screaming for me to pull over. I put my cellphone up to my ear like I was calling 911 and he took off. That was years ago, but I still keep it in mind. It's not worth it.... too many psychos around that can't control themselves when they're angry.

I had some guy who wouldn't let me into the lane for about a mile and half and I had my signal on trying to get in...Well...F IT..I'm a NY driver..I will have my way...So I knew I had exactly one car length between the car in front of him and him....I squeezed my way in and brake checked him...He squeeled to a stop. Serves him right. He kept moving up so I couldn't get in every time I was about to merge. He pulls up next to me screaming and cursing. And was more pissed off that I had tints and he couldn't see in. So he throws a penny at my car. I ever so nicely let him pull up a tad bit more and let my headlight washers take care of washing his face off...also asked him why I wasn't worth a quarter and drove off.

Some drivers should not drive. Its all about courtesy! If I see a jack off trying to cut me off..yes i'll be a jerk. but if he / she has the blinker on, I'll give them the flash for the go ahead....

Yeah, my son was with me and he is 17. I use this type of situation to teach my son the fact of life – Dos and Donts. This includes in driving, sailing, survival skills, climbing corporate ladder, and etc. After each episode, we often discuss and analyze the potential problem and risks. What he should do if he is the aggressor or aggressee (sp?). My kids and I are very close. We hang out together more than most families nowadays. We drove across the country often and spend many hours talking in the cars/trucks. My son and I work on car and truck all the time. He knows how to rebuild suspension, brake, and engine (we are doing now). The only thing we don’t do is waxing cars. This year, I am sending my daughter to Porsche driving school. He is going there next year.

I know this sounds bad. I would not recommend others to do this. But our background, up bring and achievement in life are quite different. Cheers.

Your son will learn more from your actions than your words. You just taught him that retaliatory driving is OK, that escalation of a situation is justified, and that complex maneuvers with a vehicle not built to do that are worth the risk. You also demonstrated a complete disregard for others on the road who may be affected by the defensive swerving of the BMW. What exactly were you planning to do if you had collided? Would you have left the scene of the accident, angrily confronted the other driver, or exchanged insurance numbers and humble apologies? So some gansta in an SUV cuts him off in a few years, he runs him off the road, and later gets shot. How are you gonna feel?

hahaha..Brake check: the act of tapping the brake so brake lights up when being tailgated to wake the driver up behind you....

i'm not an aggressive driver...but if the guy wants to be a jerk about it...I'm going to do what I have to do.... The NY comment was simply...we are used to driving in the city so we know what to expect and since the majority of the NY Drivers (namely CABS) will not let you in when you have to make turns, you kinda learn to swerve in..and pray! haha...don't look back! hesitation will get you killed...(i learned that from seeing this poor little squirrel hesitate crossing the street...poor guy! if he just kept running..he woulda made it..instead he second guessed himself)... RIP Herman the Squirrel

Wow! You're something! If you see me on I-95, please don't hurt me! Then again, I try not to drive like an asshole so hopefully I won't provoke you.

True that. I do try not to piss other drivers off. I'm actually looking forward to the long drive (that's a change from before). I have found drivers in Upstate NY and in Michigan to be some of the fastest around. One of my buddies is from the Bronx, and he's actually amazingly mild-mannered, and aside from his accent I would swear he's from the midwest or even the south. When he gets in his car, though, he's as impatient as hell, it's actually kinda funny.
