exactly. Remember when Infiniti used to be a piece of junk? Hyundai has actually done extremely well in sales and upping the quality of their products. I wouldn't be surprised if they opened up a luxury brand someday. If you look at their commercials right now, you can see how smart they're marketing strategy is with having affordable cars that you don't have to spend all your money on, and then take whats left and invest it. Especially since we're in this current economic funk what with the mortgage crisis, lots of people are becoming more careful with their money.

Hyundai will be the luxury car company
Kia will be the economy car company just like Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infinity, Honda/Acura...etc thats just my opinion but doesn't anyone see thats what they're doing right now?

Hyundai will not be the luxury car company.... you can the Hyundai Accent a luxury car? As for the Genesis, I think it's an Toyota Avalon wannabe... not a BMW or Mercedes competitor, as what they say in their ads. |

I bought my wife a Santa Fe and we love it, I honestly don't think that being a Hyundai it's a bad thing anymore, they make good quality cars with a great warranty, comfortable, well made and with good engines, obviously they are not top notch but they are very good for the price.

It was posted last week that they are going to be spinning off a luxury brand by 2010 that will start in China and they will consider bringing it here. That would be their opportunity to split cars like the Genesis away from their regular offerings.

Add it all up and I think Hyundai has the right marketing perspective. How many well appointed (LSD anyone?) affordable, sporty RWD coupes are there? Not many. Include that crazy warranty and I think they will sell a bundle.

Pretty cool car. Something about the way that rearside window dips down low. Looks a little weird.

kids are kids. they will always look for the most power for the dollar as most of them are students on a budget. this forum are filled with ppl that drive 335i and i can safely assume that most of you aren't kids and bought your own car. if you wanna drive a hyundai, drive one. if you wanna drive an engineering marvel, drive a bimmer.
many ppl forget one thing. so what if the hyundai matches performance numbers....that's not what makes up a car. at least 50% didn't buy the 335i for pure performance, or else you'd be in a corvette or porsche. you buy the car for its balance in all categories and its ability to exceed all of them. my 02 cents.

And for the gentlemen that says the Genesis performance sucks, you shouldn't form your opinions based solely on what others tell you. You should drive one before doing that. I did. |
