+1 on the big friendly blue button. I prefer the sound of my v8 any day to the cafeteria philosophy bs cesspool where the prevailing mentality seems to be "as long as I talk more than you, I'm right and you're wrong".

I messaged the mods about this very topic a few months ago and they helped me filter out the off-topic sub.

I know there's that big blue button, but I wish we could just implement a way to make the political section only go away. I don't mind the other off topic stuff.

its clear that the politics forum is a turn off for many members. needs to be an easy way to just get rid of politics without getting rid of other less polarizing off topic posts.

No one makes any member go to any forum. If it is a turnoff don't read it. The Health Section may be a turn off to some or the Watches forum may make some uncomfortable. If members don't like a topic, don't read it. The world will never be filtered based on peoples turn offs.

True, but it just makes filtering through the results of the "new posts" button pretty tiring. I get it - I set mine up to avoid it as well. I just venture in when I'm pretty bored.

I linked it already, but highly recommend people check it out - Post 2 in this thread did it for me, love it. I cut out the watches and some others as well https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1489024 It's a 1-time setup that takes a few minutes but is worth it until there are other options, if ever.

I view by new posts daily and a full page worth would be politics. Not just mundane politics, very flamboyant and one-sided politics. In this day and age, it's not an unreasonable request to have one tiny refuge from the political vitriol, and I don't see a problem with giving the user the option to filter them out of they so choose.

Yes it will and it already is. Twitter/Facebook/etc all give me options to block people, pages, and filter words. I'm not asking that your view be filtered. I'm asking to be given the option to better filter mine.

I really don't care if you get a filter or not, but my statement still stands. The world (not the internet) will never be filtered by your turn offs. You can't filter who you share the road with or who is in the restaurant with you or who is shopping when you are, etc., etc. Some things we just accept as part of life. Have a good day.

Take your own advice, then. If you don’t like my suggestion and thread, don’t read it.
