Camera mount on Tow Hook?

Ive seen a Gopro mount on a tow hook. I think it's a great idea.

But I don't touch Gopros.

I want to mount something like DSLR.
(actually on top of a gimbal with remote control cable. So I can control the view from inside. It's basically poor man's version of those $$$$$$$ movie camera rig)

I just have to figure out how I can strap the camera mount plate onto those 0 shaped genuine bmw tow hooks.

Any ideas??

I've debating doing something like that. What I would do is get the Go-Pro one and combine it with components from a camera stand (and maybe Home Depot) to make it able to hold a DSLR. The big thing is to make sure the tow hook has enough clearance to even hold a DSLR.
