2019 Subaru WRX STI (310 HP) vs Mitsu Lancer Evo 4 - how much advantage?

Quick question:

2019 Subaru WRX STI (310 HP) vs Mitsu Lancer Evo 4 - how much advantage?

From a spec-to-spec comparo, the assumption is that the 2019 STI will beat the Evo 4 (due to more hp, improvements made by Subaru to the 3rd gear, etc.)

But afaik, the Evo 4 is lighter than the 2019 STI.

If we were to race these two cars, would the 2019 STI easily out-smoke a Lan Evo 4 from the 90s era?

Straight-line, dig race, roll race, track driving, etc.

Thanks

What are the performance stats for the two 0-60, 1/4 , etc? Weight is a big factor along with gearing too , and most importantly the driver. I’ll tell you one thing regardless I would rather have the evo 4, will be worth more money. Do you have a evo 4 and if so please post some pics!

The STI stock is pretty slow man
98.5 mph trap is anemic to say the least
That's slower than a new v6 Camry o.0
It'll launch hard and is quikc from a dig, but that 25 yr old EJ25 is ancient
My friend drives one of those first edition ones with a stage 2 turbo back Cobb tune and it's slower than my Cobb ots beater mk7 gti
No joke once we both hit 70 I just walk away

These are weird questions. Don't get either car by the sound of it.

You're on Bimmerpost. The answer is "bring an F8X and smoke them both".

Here's manufacturer spec sheet of the Evo 4:

Manufacturer weight figures:
Subaru STI = 1,526 kg or 3,364 lb
Mitsu Evo 4 = 1,350 kg or 2,976 lb
