Which Ford Hatch has exhaust in center?
Last night, I was behind this little red hatch and it has two tail pipes in the center.
There was a car in front of him, making us do around 35mph in a 50.. I waited and waited for them to speed up, turn off, or let the red hatch pass, so I could pass.. After about 5 miles of this, I got tire of waiting and passed them both. The little red thing followed me, and it was quick.. He pretty much kept up with me till about 70.. then I started pulling away.. I got to 90 and just maintained and he was coming up on me, so he was trying to catch up. And he caught up pretty quick. Anyone know what kind of Ford hatch has a dual tipped exhaust in the middle? I'd love to know because I have a feeling that this little car is really fast 0-60.

Focus ST/RS.
The ST is FWD with somewhere around 260ish, the RS is AWD and pretty stout with a little over 300hp. But they’re not fast by any means. A friend has a heavily modded one with the exception of fuel to feed his 3076 and he’s barely in low 14s. |

Either an ST or an RS.

This little thing seemed pretty quick to me, at least from 30-60... Mind you.. I'm in a 230xi, so it's not that fast either, but I know I'm quicker than most other cars on the road.. BTW, I felt like this thing was on my bumper till about 60, when I started to pull away.

I owned at ST before my current 335. Mine was "stage 2", I can tell you first hand it would keep up with my stock 335 rolling. They are no slouch and make good torque, but fairly weak hp. From a dig though, they are fairly slow. Can't produce enough grip with fwd. On the highway they will embarrass many much more expensive cars

400whp with just a tune is awfully optimistic. Yup. This is correct. O.P. You were looking at a Focus ST. Which are actually pretty quick from a roll once modifed as others have said. |

Not at all. They are somewhat starved from the factory. Lethal Performance has a great tune for them that puts them at 400.

I haven't really seen people with tune only 400whp focus ST's. I find it hard to believe that that car could even produce 400hp at the crank with just a tune. I recall that the RS is equipped with a better turbocharger, but they're barely breaching 400whp with a tune and e85/meth. |

... And even then 400whp is far more of the exception to the rule than the rule. Most running just a tune on a Focus RS, see 350-360whp. http://www.focusrs.org/forum/16-focu...rformance.html " Baseline numbers: 268 WHP 304 WTQ Intake, exhaust, intercooler, and a Lund Racing 93 tune: 324 WHP 368 WTQ That's a gain of 56 horsepower and 64 lbs of torque at the wheels on pump gas!" Even if we assume the dyno reads low... and is more like 290whp like most dynojets kick out for an RS stock. You would be looking at right around 350whp. |

The red color alone would have told you which car this was. The RS only comes in blue, gray, black, and white. Fiesta, like the RS, doesn't have a center exhaust, leaving you with only the Focus ST. Yahtzee.
