Someone owes me a new thumb! Awesome coverage and here's hoping someone doesn't quote that first thread.

Just received an email from BMW about the event and the class winners. I thought I would share with you the results from the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2017...

Quote:
Dear Friend of Concorso,
Almost 10,000 visitors, bright blue sky, summery temperatures, classic cars of your dreams and a large number of happy participants – the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2017 in Northern Italy’s Cernobbio was an overwhelming success.

The Romeo Giulietta SS Prototipo was undoubtedly an outstanding classic car. This jewel took three titles: class winner in Class G, the public prize Trofeo BMW Group Italia, and the Trofeo BMW Group for overall victory as “Best of Show” awarded by the Jury. The unique custom-built special with streamlined design from 1957 was penned by the chief stylist at the time of the great coachbuilder Bertone – Franco Scaglione.

The public audience already selected the winner of the Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este on Saturday. This is the most traditional award of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. It went to the Lurani Nibbio, a single-seater built in 1935 which went on to break numerous speed records. This was a particularly emotional moment for the winner, Federico Göttsche Bebert. The model was designed and built by his grandfather, Giovanni Lurani Cernuschi, and he himself had prepared the car for the road again and presented it on the shores of Lake Como.
