EU Emissions Standards and the N55 Engine
When are the EU emissions standards changing next that will likely retire the N55 engines?

When the EU standards changed and the N54T engine went away... BMW still continued to make Z4 35iS for two years!

From what I understand you have one year after the date of implementation to make the vehicle conform to the latest standard. EURO 6C is slated for 01SEP18 so all BMW models must be compliant by 01SEP19. N55 equipped cars won't be produced past 01SEP2019.
The N55 already meets 6B (required from 01SEP2015) while the B series was designed to meet 6C. |
