I'll never get it about that car. I owned one with an S54 back in the day, and yes it's a nice car, but it's not 1/4 the car the Z4M Coupe and Roadsters are. Not even considering the huge issues those cars have with the subframe and the early S54s with their tendencies to grenade, I'd never consider owning another one since they are way out of warranty (I wouldn't TOUCH that car if the rod bearings haven't at least been replaced). I enjoyed my time in the Z3M Coupe, but had no problem selling it and never looked back. After I sold my first Z4M, I was sick until I found another one to buy. I'm keeping my current one forever.
I've owned two Z3M Roadsters, one Z3M Coupe, and two Z4M Roadsters so I have a lot of seat time in the all of the cars. I wouldn't even consider a Z3M until it was 1/4 the price of a Z4M. I'm not saying they aren't nice cars, they are, but absolutely nowhere near worth the money they're going for right now. Whatever though, as long as buyer and seller are happy that's all that matters! |

Not sure where you're from but they've been on the up and up for at least 5 years. Both the Z3M coupe (S52) and the Z4M Coupe were around the same price about 2 years ago in my market. I contemplated which to get but I couldn't get pass the ugly front of the first gen Z4. The S54 would demand at least $15K more as they were obviously more rare in the Z3. I think the final price will be at around $38k for this Coupe.

I know they have been on the move upwards but that price just seemed to be high to me. If ~$38K is where they are now, color me impressed.

It's like the Porsche 993. Prices of this car kept going up for some time. While the 996 which is arguably the better car doesn't hold value. heck even the old 964s and 911 SCs fetch higher price than late model Carreras.
The Z4M is no doubt the superior performing car to the Z3M, but people are emotional beings. |

I expect this car to go above mid 30's.
I've said it many times. NOW is the right time to buy ANY naturally aspirated M with a manual transmission. You won't lose money on it if you find a good one. These E-chassis cars were from a very special era.
