Saw the 135i on the Road today, SoCal
I was coming back from getting all four of my runflats replaced on my 335i free of charge at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, CA. I'm going north on the 101 in Calabasas. I look to my left and to my surprise see the 135i in a red/orange color (turns out it's Sedona Red Metallic). I got close enough to POSITIVELY identify it as a 135i from the badging.
I was not really impressed by the photos I saw online, but I really liked the way it looked on the road. Definitely had a more upright body than other BMWs. The car is noticeable smaller than the 3 series (big surprise). It had a white BMW plate on the rear. The car seemed to be attracting attention as I was not the only one who seemed to want to get a better look. The driver of the 135i was definitely not going the speed limit. I was going around 90 to try to catch up. I finally gave up because that would be stupid to get a ticket or get in an accident just to get a better shot of the 135i. So that's my story. SoCal members, have you eyes peeled. The 135i is here already. I attached a pic I took with the iPhone. Not the best as it's quite far away. |

Yea, I have seen one on the road as well. After seeing it in person I placed an order.
Here are some pics from an UK owner. Do I have doubts? Yes, of course, but the decision is made and I will put it behind me. |

I really do like the 1er with the M-Sport package in white. The rear benefits from the contrast. All in all, I think it'd take very little modding to turn it into a respectable looking, aggressive car. Now bout that rust color...

+1. If it were AWD, I'd have bought that in a second.
