Honestly, I need a little more information about the situation and think this is a case-by-case situation for the decisions made. But, given the time of night (2:30AM), the fact that you were alone and in the middle of nowhere, and they were acting suspicious, well, let's just say you don't want to encounter anybody you don't personally know at that time unless THEY are in distress (or you're still in the club).

They were acting suspicious. They would have been pulled over by the police for acting suspicious, so it was right for you to be suspicious of them too.

Exactly....although some of these responses are friggin' hilarious!! Living here my entire life, we learn not to take chances. When there's other people around and someone is acting/looking shady, you can take the chance and give them the benefit of the doubt. But when you're all alone and someone is acting/looking shady towards you, lets just say...you're not going to justify giving someone the benefit of doubt by saying to yourself profiling is bad and racist.

Its usually the sheltered individuals who are completely oblivious and naive to their surroundings and end up being victims in these situations. Its the parents of these individuals that are paranoid. The kids turn out to be...well...street-dumb.

What a lot of us have is referred to as situational awareness. This, coupled with a plan of escape should the situation escalate, saves lives. The difference between someone with situational awareness and a paranoid person experiencing your, incident (?), is that a paranoid person thinks they almost got car jacked or worse. A person with situational awareness and a plan, just calls it driving late at night.

My father would say, "What the hell were you doing out past midnight alway?!" Followed up with, "You had better have gotten laid if you're going to be out past midnight." lol

Lol....i understand. In my defense, the title was sort of meant to be just an attention grabbing headline...while possibly could've been true, it was still meant to just be an attention grabber, good taste or not.

And for me, my first plan of action in case i run into something bad is to escape. What we're debating here is whether i really should've made sure it was something i needed to escape from or just follow my gut and do it. Obviously we all have differences of opinions which was the exact reason i put this thread up.

A lot of the trollers on this thread were hilarious and witty with their responses. Yours was just dumb and ignorant. If i started this thread by saying i passed by a car with chrome wheels and tint and i ran away....your response may make sense....but obviously you didnt care to read the entire post.

This might provide some insight on your rationale.

Real fist fight...yes

Victim of violent crime....No (knock on wood)..although im not oblivious to the fact that it happens all around.

Metro area...no....what we call 'camden part ll'...yes for 2 years. Lindenwold nj...apartment cul de sacs where mine had a 'set' on it.

Visited other countries not in resorts....no....but again not oblivious to the fact that my situation doesnt come anywhere close to what other countries and our own soldiers are going thru.

Also without plastering my life story on the interwebs...lets just say ive been around the bad areas more than i would've liked.

Maybe it also has something to do with the fact that this is my first 'flashy' car. First bimmer...had subys since i got my license, while modded, definitely can still blend in.

Understood!! But just gotta let this out......HAHAHA i finally got why everyone was dogging me about tinted windows. Tinted windows are illegal in NJ. They are not prevelant here. Only people with tinted windows are the modded car culture dudes/gals who dont give a shit about tickets, out of state, and people who dont want anyone looking in their car or their faces.
