I wasted $1K on a watch a few years ago.

It's just jewelry.

I should have bought a $50 Timex.

$1k for that isn't worth it. you could find a nicer watch for less.

Yes, a while ago, I posted a thread about the fact that I wanted an IWC Big Pilot watch and it's a cool watch, but it's too much money.

I think it's neat to have such a watch because it's rare to see people wear them and it's a automatic, yet the design is quite a classic yet modern and tasteful. Timex watches are accurate, reliable, and affordable. The Ironman digital watches are even certified by NASA to be worn on the shuttle. I've seen U.S. fighter pilots wear Timex Ironman digital watches too, but they're just not my taste, I wouldn't call them interesting watches. Have anyone worn a Timex watch that started a conversation?

Yes, spending over 1 grand is a lot for a watch and it's not the most wise investment, but why do we drive the cars we drive now?

Yes, I have considered Archimede Pilot watches but I think the attention to detail and craftmanship isn't stellar from some reviews I've read.
As the owner of an Archimede Pilot, I'd have to completely disagree. I've had mine for 3 years and it never skips a beat.
