Bottom line for T1, there is a blood test for the antibodies which attack the beta cells in the pancreas. Positive for antibodies = T1 diabetes. No antibodies, T2 or something else going on. And as for the two year honeymoon period, not unusual. My son's is a T1 and his honeymoon period was a little more than two years...
