I like new cars so I would have to say the M3. I also like coupes so I would not do an M5 for that sole reason.

i think your father just joined the forums in disguise as mgasaad. or i could be wrong.
go with the M5 bro, theres no way you can regret it. just beg and plead to your father. tell him the 7er is too much of an old mans car, and the M3 just seems to immature for a man like him. (i dont back up these claims, but they are nice when used to convince people into buying stuff lol). tell him that the M5 fits him nicely because it is practically tailored to his persona. good luck!

I'd base it on his age:
45-50: M3 50-55: M5 55+ : 760Li

I dunno, I know some older guys who act like they're 20. I'll give you my friend's dad for instance. He's 55 or so I think right now, and he's in better shape than me or my friends and he goes rock climbing with us. If it wasn't for the age lines, he could pass for one of us. Plus he drives a new 911 Turbo Cabriolet which is a gorgeous car.
If you want to base it on something qualitative, base it on your dad's personality. If he's one of those guys that likes to ride around in luxury, go for the boat. On the other hand, if he's still young at heart, take for the M3. Somewhere in between, then recommend the M5. After all, the car is for him. Look at it this way, if it's the M3 or M5, you still win in the end. |

No matter which one of the three he gets, it's still gonna be a bimmer, so it's still gonna be a sweet ride.

The M5 didnt come out with a manual tell 2007. Sure a manual is more fun most of the time, but in the M5 it is slower. The thing is that BMW designed the ECU to not fully turn off the traction control with the stick. They said it had too much power to be safe without some type if traction control. Plus the SMG is a 7 speed. All of the car mags tested the M5 man and auto and concluded that the 7speed is faster throughout accl tests. I know it sucks, but I would like the 7speed anywase. If I wanted a complete drivers car, Id just buy a m3 and a daily driver. As for what car to get? Id go with the brand spanking new one!! Nothing like a new car!! |
