Auto Transmission Pan replacement
I just did a pan and mechtronic sleeve replacement on my 2008 528i. Followed the DIY exactly, filled the fluid, started the car with the fill plug out, ran it to operating temp then filled again till it started pouring out. Closed it up drive it today and no problems BUT once I pulled in the garage there was a noticeable smell coming from the car. Smelled kinda like something burning probably just the new parts emitting smells from getting hot but want to make sure this is normal. I used ATF2 directly from BMW I used Real OEM and my vin to find the fluid part number.
Thoughts?

Nice! Glad it worked out, noticing any smoother shifts?

Yes, maybe just a placebo. Also left the belly pan off for a week and checked the fluid level and was able to get another 3/4 liter in before it started spilling back out. Total of just under 6 liters went in. Only problem I had was I over torque one of the bolts and the head popped off. I was able to use pliers to get it out, and put a new one in. then noticed I had the torque wrench set to 15 pounds and it should have been 7 pounds.
The DIY wasn't bad on the pan but the mechtronic sleeve replacement was a B***H, I wouldn't wish that job on anybody.
