STi one of Jalopniks 15 best for 2014?

http://jalopnik.com/the-15-best-revi...014-1676049472

Written in reference to the STI: "This is a Porsche 911 fighter for a third of the price."

LOL at Porsche 911 fighter. The STI cars are way overrated. And before some fangirl says, "b-b-b-utt if you mod it will own all bro" - STFU modded that motor is a ticking time bomb.

I can't think of any other car that has left my weiner so flaccid after driving an STI.

I had an STi that I simply put a downpipe and intake on it with a professional tune from Cobb and it fried the engine in less than 24 hours!

Mine was bone stock, and it spun a bearing. Thank goodness it was still under warranty. "Subaru's are tanks" my ass.

Mine went 92k miles without a single problem on the entire car. Heck even its noisy throw out hearing that started at 20k kept going strong

92k miles isn't that much; I'd expect a token "bulletproof" car to not even break a sweat at 92k miles. I have an NA miata that I track with 113k miles. Never had a peep.

The bulletproof subies weren't the turbo ones.

I was very pleased with my 08 legacy gt five speed. Did all the maintenance myself but literally not a single issue in 92k. Not a sensor, not a bulb. Nothing. Let's hope the f80 can match it.

People still read Jalopnik? I thought that was a blog for washed up 45 year-old garage mechanics who drive Volvo station wagons or Miatas.

My buddy had an 05 STi and did a couple things to it, I think it was pushing ~330whp. He wasn't easy on the car much and it last 40k, I think and then the drivetrain started going on it.

I'd rather have an EVO VIII, they seem more bullet proof.

Lol yeah. 2.5L turbo.

Had an H6 NA subaru years back. Engine was rock solid, differentials kept failing though, 3x in a year the last year I owned it. Sold that thing as fast as I could.

Had two STi's. An 07 with bolt-ons which was reliable. Then got a heavily modded one which I had to sell due to so many quirky tune issues, the ride as I was using it more on street than track, and went through meth like an addict. Also had an rs which was probably the most fun out of any of those.

Handling, transmission and awd are spot on. But as everyone is highlighting, engine is treacherous.

Btw who still reads jalopnik

I'd take a Miata over a FWD BMW MINI.
