Question Why does the value of the Cayenne GTS fall faster than the Pana GTS cousin?

Been poking around the pre-owned market for a 2013 GTS.

I like the Panamera more but it seems the Cayenne GTS is a better deal since the price difference for comparable models is a big difference $60k range vs. $80k. Of course there will be options differences but both cars sticker around $110-120k new.

Is the difference in transmissions make the Panamera more valuable?

Really dont know for sure. I think the Pan is a more limited car. I see more Cayenne GTS' than I do Pan GTS'. Also the Panamera for a large luxury car has always been deemed the car that retains its value better than the 5/7 series, a6/8 and e/s class so that probably has a lot to do with it. Plus its far more expensive than a Cayenne GTS.
For a large sedan, the GTS is IMO the best out there. Fast, but not nearly the fastest, but the one that most drives like a nimble small car.

I think generally, cayenne tends not to hold its value well compared to other P cars.

Also 958.2 just came out also. Having said that, there is no GTS yet in the refresh either. If Porsche drops the non turbo V8 from the GTS, 958.1 GTS might be more desirable.

Definitely agree on your last point, the car is huge but drives like a regular Porsche, you almost forgot you have the rear doors and hatch! The PDK tranny is also one of the most amazing "smart" transmissions around..

My local dealer had this one last year with upgraded wheels and MSRP was just around $117k so it's not more than the Cayenne depending on options.

On another note, they also had this Cayenne with a crazy Mansory kit for $180k+

Panameras MSRPs for $20k more than Cayennes.

For example, Cayenne S's MSRP for $74k while Panamera S MSRP's for $93k.(starting prices)

Transmission is definitely a factor but so is the "it factor". One is a SUV and one is a "ubber sedan".
