I have nice mechanical watches, but I'm actually impressed with the Apple watch. It could, if the GPS sensitivity is good enough on the i6, replace the Garmin I use for cycling and would be a decent casual weekend watch for occasional use.

design is pretty (loving the bands and the smart way of changing them) but don't care much about the software... yet.
i'll reserve judgement until watchkit is out and see what the DEVELOPERS can come up with. with integration of healthkit and homekit this has the possibility of being really useful (unlock doors, enter home and lights come on to your preferred settings, thermostat automatically adjusts, security cameras turn off, locate your phone by haptic pulsing i.e. closer or farther). digital touch was also quite profound as well... as gimmicky as it sounds (tap to alert someone or send sketches), the heartbeat functionality has such a deeper meaning. what if a loved one is sick and at the hospital? what if they are deployed? being able to send that kind of humanizing feedback is certainly more meaningful. or all of this could be a total flop. i dunno, we shall see. i thought the iPad would a total failure, but it turned out to be successful. we'll find out next year.
