So much for "quattro"...

Why do some people always rave about AWD cars? Sure they have their benefits, but on the track it seems like RWD cars perform better in most situations.

RS4 vs E92 M3

S4 vs 335i

It looks like Audi's quattro was not enough to beat the new M3 on the track. Oh well, maybe next time Audi....

Audi's quattro is also lame in comparison to that of Porsche and Nissan. It's a FWD car trying to masquerade as AWD. Porsche and Nissan both build AWD systems based on RWD chassis.

So, we're comparing a 5-year old Audi design with e92 M3? Lets wait for b8 version...

^ second that.

quattro's benefits are more noticed in day to day driving situations. I moved from a quattro A4 to RWD..there will be many times this winter I miss it.

Can't say the same when it's dry though

+1.

The B8 Audi RS4 vs. the E90 M3 is the true test.

By the time the B8 rs4 will come out the M3 will be al least 2 years old.

Then we will say that the B8 rs4 should compare with the "new" 2012 M3

It is what it is!

PS everybody missed the point. 2 cars with same hp...one RWD and one AWD...RWD wins.

audi's quattro sucks.

By 2012 they will have banned all combustion engines. :P
We will start racing on who has the most electricity, or hydrogen.

Or the rain for that matter. Wait til those RFT's get a little old and you're trying to go 65+ when its raining pretty hard on the highway. You'd wish you had some quattro then. If you live in SoCal, yes, you can say, what is quattro for... but there's a big advantage for the "anywhere, anytime, any place" advantage that I really don't have when less than ideal conditions are present.
