My sis is looking to buy a CRV sized car as she has three kids- 8, 5 and 1. She doesn't want a big loan, maybe high teens after she trades in her car for 8-10k and 3 years. She mentioned an '11 RX350 but I think that may be a bit of a reach. We've always been a Honda/Acura family so I immediately thought of the RDX but she thinks it's hideous.
Any cars I should search? She's an Asian female so obviously she likes a luxury car that's trouble free so I'm gonna pass looking at Q5s, GLKs or anything else German. Looking to do it soon cause I looked at her car today and the pads are down to 4mm the outside so I'm thinking 2 or even 1mm inside, the tires are all down to 3 or 2mm so I'm trying to get her into another car before she spends 1000 plus replacing them. |

Well, she's an Asian female, and I am a black male so not sure there there any similarities between us so take my advice with an extra grain if salt.
![]() So I too seem to like what she's looking for. I looked at CRV, RAV4 (sold) and Lexus RX 350 with the same V6 my Rav4 had. From my own experience, take the Lexus RX350. Forget all the hot air about Toyota quality going south, the competition is miles behind. Failing that get the 2008-2012 Rav4 V6. Fantastic value trouble free car that doesn't depreciate! Hard to go wrong with those two.
