A solid 7th at Kansas last week, after qualifying ninth. No lucking into it, just a good race.
So Petty tweaks her again this week. And she qualifies 4th at Charlotte, a drivers track if there ever was one. Under the new format, this was no fluke either. She was 6th the first session, 1st (!) the second session, fourth the last session. She was beaten by Jimmy Johnson (who owns Charlotte), Brad Keselowski, and Kasey Kahne. No shame there. She beat Boyer, Logano, the two Busches, Earnhardt, etc. She still needs to learn more about race strategy and tactics. But the speed is there. Look at all the others she beat out. Regardless the girl has skillz. Petty just needs to embrace change and recognize she is getting better w each race. Besides nobody likes anyone disrespecting them.
