They're running pretty quick in Indy this year (230+ mph)
Ed Carpenter, the now back-to-back pole sitter, turned in a 4-lap average of 231.067 mph this past weekend.
Carpenter also won the pole last year. It's a pretty big deal around here as Ed is an Indianapolis native. Although we've adopted Tony Kanaan, we'd all love to see Ed win it this year. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...-nine/9251275/ Pretty impressive speeds out at the IMS.

thats pretty cool.
the other thing that impressed me was that the throttle meter showed that he was at 100% throttle pretty much the whole time....very little lift!

Nice catch. Yeah I'm a sucker for the Indy 500. I know most people here are F1 fans (rightly so) but it takes some serious skill to pilot these Indy Cars cars at 230+ lap after lap.
