Nissan Has Offically Ruined The Gt-r

Awfull news. www.worldcarfans.com for info.
Nissan will only be putting a 6 speed automatic/dsg in the upcoming GT-R with the 3.8L turbo motor. They have ruined the car in my eyes forever unless a 6 speed manual is ever offered. I would never ever consider one now knowing they took the sports out of sports car. Damn morons.:sad0147::sad0147::sad0147::sad0147:

i guess, but the true new face of modern sports cars is the DSG and other ultra fast shifting systems. Most professional racing series cars, such as F1, use similar systems. Manual might be more fun to you, but in a performance sense, its being totally out done by the newer lightening fast dsg and smg transmissions.

Good enough for Michael Schumacher, good enough for me....

Sticks are archaic in racing.

Don't bash DSG until you've driven it. It makes manual look like garbage.

This is old news, they've said it was automated manual since the first press release.

FYI - BMW will supposedly be offering a DSG-like double clutch tranny w/ Paddle Shifters on the E92 M3 as well.

How can you say that they took the sport out of sport cars? Face the facts, these transmissions are faster and better for sporty driving. Now, I think they aren't as fun to drive, but would you say that Ferrari took the sport out of their Scuderia and Enzo because they put a automated manual in these cars? Not to mention the dual clutches are almost always even better than smg type trans. People who say this kind of crap have obviously never driven one. I still do wish they gave the option of manual or dual-clutch, though

Anyone else see the weight they estimated?....3075lbs....i wish, but no way

I got a stick for how the car drives and dont care if an auto is faster. I am sure most people with a stick feel the same way. My point is to just offer both not just one.

There is a big difference between an enzo f1 box and a nissan DSG. If the tranny was as good as the one in the ferrari I can see the point but its not even close. It will never shift as fast and offer such a wide variety of driver settings. I would still like a stick better in a ferrari but if it only came with the F1 trabs I would not mind because they drive better than a dsg compared with the DSG transmission I have seen. Comparing a dsg in a nissan to an F1 gearbox in the scuderia is like comparing apples and oranges. The scuderia shifts as fast as F1 cars from less than a decade ago. I just wish they had both and I do see your point to a certain degree.

Wooo such a witty remark coming from someone who thinks a car is ruined with DSG. You must have cat like reflexes as well to shift faster than DSG. Just because a cr has DSG doesn't mean it's ruined. What exactly bothers you about DSG?

I never said I shifted faster than DSG. Please show me where I said that? Its no so much I dont like DSG its that I liek maual better. Is that weasier for you to understand now. DSG is better than an auto box but not as good as a stick IMO. Stick is a lot more fun to drive and I buy a car for driving pleasure so this may be where we differ.
