I respect and know as much as one can know about Grand Nationals without ever owning one, but sorry..."keeping up" with a C5 Z06, one of the fastest production cars on a track in the early-2000s, is just not happening.

You can not gauge comparative performance from an HPDE event. Not only is driver skill-level a factor, but also how hard they are willing to push their car. Put me in a V6 Toyota Camry (or an X1...same shit) pushing the car to 10/10 on Infineon where I have over 500 laps under my belt vs. a novice in their brand new GT3 on their second time on the track driving at 7/10 because they don't want to wreck their $180K car after a harmless, non-competitive day at the track...I can guarantee you I'll be faster. Doesn't mean much, though.

Let me guess Kant, you think a 1963 Corvette Stingray or a 1969 Camaro belong in a junkyard?

American cars may have started to go downhill in the 80's, but the Buick Grand National/GNX was actually a respectable vehicle and the Turbo V6 under the hood was most likely underrated big time.

This thread is full of hilarious comments, but this one in particular made me laugh my ass off.

Kind of had my info slightly skewed. If you follow the link to post #22. THat gentleman is a vendor for a few key parts and suspension for the GN. He has tracked his car and came very close to beat a C6 ZO6. So the GN is no slouch as mentioned in the thread. Also its suspension was a huge improvement compared to other cars of the era. If you follow some of his threads, he mentions that track day from time to time and other days as well. He has won gold a few times with the same GN. Gracias to all the kind words gentlemen. Lets forget about the narrow-mindedness of certain folks and move on. If you don't know anything about the car please don't bash it. Bash it if you know something about it but do so politely. Thank you

No you didn't. In order to troll a thread, you first have to have some sort of knowledge on the topic and purposely say something ignorant and see if people can catch you making a joke. Neither which was the case. You wholeheartedly know nothing about a GN. Thanks for taking part in a thread and making a fool of yourself.
