Cool. Guess you're good since i recognize it immediately

I've tried picking it up a few times but I always find it hard to start... So many programs and shitty tutorials out there. And much time needed

Photoshop is where my gfxskills end. Although I've been thinking about trying again with 3ds max now I have a 3D-printer assembled in my living room

Power user on Solid works and inventor... But never tried modeling a car. Surfaces would be a great plug-in for Solidworks.

I was on the same boat as you until one day i decided to really give it a try.

The best program/software for me is 3DS Max, because i've been using it since 2006 but i only used to to do simple elementary stuff like 3d texts and basic shapes.

Up until earlier this year (April 2013) i decided to really learn how to model and i've learned a few things.

It's not as hard as it may seem, it's very simple. If you have any minimal drawing skills it will help a lot.

The software costs $1,000,000,000,000.00 lol j/k. But if you register as a Student, you get a free unlimited copy.

The free student copy is exactly the same as the Pro copy, the only difference is that you may not commercialize your work for profit if you used the free copy.

Two of my friends do all the 3D/cg models for Toyota USA. Literally every single model, trim, etc. for them. I admire their patience and attention to detail. Shit is no joke.

Yeah procrastination is a bitch to me… Definitely going to try it again!
My drawing skills are basic but not bad maybe.

You model cars with the blueprints next to it from all angles and then slowly make your way through it right?

Yes, I model with the Blueprint to get the proportions during the first stages of the modeling process. After that, i begin sculpting the remaining of the body.

I'm an avid user of SW and the HSM works plug in, like others have said, I would love to mess with a surfaces plug in for SW.
