Anyone see Linsanity the Movie?
Good documentary about how much work it takes to get to the NBA.
It shows a lot of childhood, college footage and they started shooting while he was at Harvard through the "Linsanity" 2 week period. If you have kids in sports, it's particularly useful so show them it's not easy to get to the pro level. I didn't realize the dude was REALLY smart; SAT 800 math and something like 780 Reading. http://www.linsanitythemovie.com/ Trailer added. .

The director actually showed up at the end of the show to answer any questions.
They had NO BUDGET for advertisement and could barely get the movie out in the handful of theaters it's in right now. It's too bad, because it's not just a basketball movie. Obviously, it's mostly about basketball, but it shows how the high school Player of the year in Cali still has to bust his ass to have a chance in the NBA. It also goes into racism a little bit; by not only opposing fans but also the media. It's funny how it's ok to call an Asian dude a "chink," but no one would EVER use the "N" work to a black dude, or numerous other slangs against other racial groups. I also didn't realize the first game he went off in the Garden was going to be his last game before his contract expired.

Litos, I really envy your team this year. So much youth, talent, and potential. I hope your team gets to at least the conference finals this year.

Dwight Howard: probably the best center in the NBA - he's the most athletic and most dynamic by far. even after coming off a back surgery he went for 17 points, 12 reb and 3 blocks. he's a machine. James Harden: this guy is a legit #1 and he proived it throughout last year. he still needs to find his marbles at the end of tight games and he needs to show that he at least knows the definition of defense, but i see Harden going for ALL NBA First Team this year. Linsanity: borderline starting PG in the league last year and he was making 6MM. team didn't even confide in him to finish off a game in the last 6 or 7 minutes. he was "replaced" by Patrick Beverly, who plays basketball as if it's his last game ever. but with Lin working extremely hard over the summer, coaches and Rockets officials are saying that he's improved quite a bit since last year. here's hoping he can lead the team to victories and keep his turnovers down. Chandler Parsons: dude is a freaking riot. everyone loves him here in Houston. he plays more than 30 minutes a game, averages 49% from the field, 37% from the 3pt line and only makes $975,000 a year. he is THE STEAL of the NBA with those production numbers. all the bitches dream of him and when you go to a Rockets game and they put his face on our massive TV screen, all the girls start screeching like he's Bieber from 5 years ago..... his g/f is rediculous hot too...... getting to the Finals is the ultimate goal, but i'd love (for once in 15 years) love to see the Rockets in the Western Conference Finals. if they lose to the Thunder, i wouldn't be upset..... but if they get bumped in the second round, i will consider it a disaster, like thousands of Rockets fans in Houston. ...............again, very very high expectations for this team...... |
